Welcome to the new Smart Step Literacy Lab
Smart Step Literacy Lab Classroom Project, a professional development opportunity for teachers of grades 4 – 12, is based upon current research that supports educational pedagogy. Literacy Lab is a compliment to a standards based curriculum, not a prescribed curriculum. The set of 4 DVDs features Ken Stamatis modeling the strategies Schematic Connections, Questioning, Visualizing and Inferring in real classroom settings.
These strategies have been modeled with different classrooms and different example texts over the past 3 years. Every year's set is still for sale
Each set of 4 is only $30 and the proceeds go to AFRICAREADS, a non-profit corporation that helps fund classroom libraries and support professional development for teachers in Africa.
